Gaza ceasefire continues as sixth prisoner exchange unfolds

Hamas has congratulated the released Palestinian detainees, their families, and the Palestinian people, calling their freedom a significant national achievement on the path to liberation and return.

In a statement, Hamas described the release as a crucial step in the ongoing journey toward Jerusalem. The group emphasized that this moment represents an important milestone in the broader Palestinian resistance movement.

Hamas reiterated that the liberation of Palestinian detainees remains a top priority for the people and resistance, vowing that true victory will not be achieved until all Palestinian detainees are freed.

The statement also highlighted that the release of three captives compels "Israel" to comply with the terms of the agreement and humanitarian protocols. Hamas called for the commencement of negotiations for the second phase of the prisoner release process.

Hamas stressed that the unity of the Palestinian people and resistance is vital to disrupting |Israel’s| displacement plans, as it has done with previous occupation efforts.

Finally, Hamas condemned "Israel" for placing racist slogans on Palestinian prisoners and subjecting them to violent treatment, describing it as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

Several Palestinian detainees recently freed in the latest exchange deal reported that during their detention, they were subjected to the most brutal forms of torture, abuse, and starvation by the Israeli Occupation.

Palestinian sources have confirmed the arrival of nine released Palestinian freed detainees who had been serving life sentences in the city of Ramallah. 

According to a Roya reporter, the released Palestinian detainees will be handed "David's Shield," adorned with a message written in Arabic: "We will not forget, we will not forgive."

Buses carrying Palestinian detainees recently freed have arrived in Ramallah.

Nine detainees who had been serving life sentences have now been released and made their way to Ramallah.

In another development, three more prisoners from the same category—those sentenced to life imprisonment—have been transported to Jerusalem.

The three recently released 'Israeli' captives—Sagui Dekel-Chen, Sasha Troufanov and Iair Horn—have called on the 'Israeli' government to take urgent action to ensure the continuation of the prisoner exchange deal and the release of all remaining captives.

Sagui Dekel-Chen urged the government to do everything possible to keep the agreement in place.

Iair Horn emphasized the need to bring all captives home, stating that "there is no more time left."

Meanwhile, Sasha Troufanov reminded the public not to forget those still in captivity.

A source in the Al-Qassam Brigades revealed that Hamas presented a special gift to "Israeli" captive Sagui Dekel-Chen, as they gifted him a gold piece for his daughter, who was born four months after Dekel-Chen's capture on Oct. 7, 2023.

The source explained that this gift comes as a symbol of support from the brigades for their captive and his family during his detention.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) announced its readiness to receive the captives from a single point in the Re’im area, near Gaza.

Sources in the IOF confirmed that the reception procedures would be swift and organized and that all arrangements have been made for the transfer process.

A senior Hamas official stated that the group will release three captives on Saturday.

Speaking to Reuters, the official confirmed that among those to be freed "Israeli"-Argentinian Yair Horn, "Israeli"-American Sagui Dekel-Chen, and "Israeli"-Russian Sasha Trupanov.

Additionally, Abu Hamza, the military spokesperson for Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, announced that the group will release "Israeli" captive Alexander Turbanov.

Preparations are underway in Gaza to begin the handover of three "Israeli" captives, as part of the implementation of the ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli Occupation.
