US President Donald Trump has suggested that Ukraine could eventually fall under Russian control, while calling for the country to share its valuable natural resources in return for US assistance.

In a Fox News interview on Monday, Trump said he had requested Ukraine provide "USD 500 billion worth of rare earth" as part of securing US financial support.

He pointed out that Ukraine holds significant resources, including rare earth minerals, oil, and gas, which he argued should be leveraged to secure American investments.

"We’re spending hundreds of billions of dollars, and I want to ensure our money is secured," he stated.

Trump, who has advocated for a swift end to the war, also proposed meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky this week. His envoy to Ukraine and Russia, retired General Keith Kellogg, is set to outline their peace vision with allies at the Munich Security Conference from February 14-16.

According to Ukrainian state media, Kellogg is scheduled to visit Kyiv four days later for his highly anticipated first trip to the Ukrainian capital.
