Demi Lovato calls out Meta for not being able to unfollow Trump
Social media users, including stars like singers Demi Lovato and Gracie Abrams, are expressing frustration that Meta is preventing them from unfollowing US President Donald Trump, his Vice President JD Vance, and First Lady Melania Trump on Instagram.
Abrams mentioned on her Instagram story that she needed to unfollow President Trump’s and Vance’s accounts three times since Meta repeatedly refollowed them automatically.
The singer wrote. “Had to block them in order to make sure I am nowhere near that.”
Demi Lovato shared on her Instagram story: “I unfollowed this guy two times today.”
However, Meta denied those claims as stated by the company's Communication Director Andy Stone on X.
People were not made to automatically follow any of the official Facebook or Instagram accounts for the President, Vice President or First Lady. Those accounts are managed by the White House so with a new administration, the content on those Pages changes.

Stone added, “It may take some time for follow and unfollow requests to go through as these accounts change hands.”
