Jordan, Russia discuss Syria, Gaza, strengthening bilateral ties
Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ayman Safadi, received a phone call today from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The two discussed developments in Syria, efforts to halt 'Israeli' aggression on Gaza, and the worsening humanitarian crisis caused by the ongoing aggression.

The ministers also addressed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation in various fields. Safadi reaffirmed Jordan's support for the Syrian people in their efforts to rebuild the country through an inclusive Syrian-led political process, aiming for a new system that protects the rights of all Syrians and ensures Syria's unity, sovereignty, and security.
Safadi also warned of the consequences of continued 'Israeli' aggression on Gaza and emphasized the need for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, as well as the opening of all crossings for sufficient humanitarian aid to reach the region. Both ministers stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation and coordination on regional issues to promote security, stability, and a just peace in the region.
