VIDEO: Several injured in SUV crash outside primary school in China
Several people were injured Tuesday when an SUV crashed into students and pedestrians outside a primary school in Changde, Hunan province, China, state media reported.
CCTV and media outlets indicated that the crash occurred as children were arriving for school. Police confirmed the injuries were not life-threatening, and a 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, according to Reuters.
The crash follows last week's deadly attack in Zhuhai, where a driver killed 35 people.
This latest incident has sparked concerns over the rise in violent attacks in China. Video footage showed children fleeing the scene, with some victims lying on the ground.
Chinese authorities are investigating the incident, and discussions have emerged about the societal pressures contributing to recent acts of violence.
