Locked out: 0-0 draw between France, “Israel”
France faced ”Israel” Thursday at Stade De France as part of match day five of the UEFA Nations League.
Amid heightened tensions, French President Emmanuel Macron pledged that France will not "yield to anti-Semitism" ahead of the match which was described as “high-risk”.
Thousands of police officers were deployed around the Stade de France in Paris to ensure security.
The security measures came following incidents in Amsterdam last week during a match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Ajax.
The game was attended by President Macron, Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau, as well as former presidents François Hollande and Nicolas Sarkozy.
In statements ahead of the match, Macron emphasized that violence and intimidation will not be tolerated in France.
