Jordan condemns "Israeli" settler violence in occupied Palestinian territories
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a strong condemnation of recent acts of violence and terrorism by "Israeli" settlers in the occupied Palestinian territories. The latest incident involved a group of settlers setting fire to multiple vehicles in the Al-Bireh area of Ramallah.
In a statement released on Monday, the ministry noted that one of the targeted vehicles had been designated by the Palestinian government for use by the Jordanian surgical station in Al-Bireh. The ministry holds the "Israeli" government, as the occupying power, responsible for ensuring the safety of the Palestinian population and humanitarian relief workers operating in the region.
Ambassador Sufyan Qudah, the official spokesperson for the ministry, emphasized Jordan's unequivocal rejection of the escalating violence perpetrated by settlers against the Palestinian people. He pointed out that these acts of aggression are occurring amidst a broader context of heightened tensions and violence since the beginning of the Israeli Occupation offensive against the Gaza Strip.
