Netanyahu cancels Metula visit after Hezbollah drone explosion
"Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu canceled his visit to Metula after a Hezbollah drone explosion occurred just 20 minutes prior to his arrival, according to Hebrew media reports.
During his planned visit to the northern border with Lebanon, Netanyahu promised a "strong" response to Hezbollah, insisting that the group must be pushed back beyond the Litani River, regardless of whether a ceasefire agreement is in place. He emphasized the need to prevent the Iranian-backed militia from rearming.
Netanyahu stated, "With or without an agreement, the key to safely returning residents in the north to their homes is keeping Hezbollah beyond the Litani, striking every attempt to rearm, and responding forcefully to all actions against us."
His last trip to the "Israel"-Lebanon border was on October 6.
In a related development, Israeli Occupation airstrikes targeted the Baalbek area in Lebanon on Sunday, just hours after the "Israeli" military issued an evacuation warning for the region.
