Hamas speaks out against inaccurate reports on Mohammed Deif
On Saturday, Hamas issued a statement refuting claims made by the London-based newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat regarding the fate of its military leader, Mohammed Deif.
In its official statement, Hamas emphasized that the information published in Asharq Al-Awsat, which was attributed to an unnamed source within the movement, is inaccurate.
The group called on media outlets to uphold standards of accuracy, credibility, and professionalism in their reporting.
Earlier, the newspaper reported that certain individuals close to Deif indicated, after re-establishing communication with both them and the leadership of Hamas, that they had lost contact with him following an operation targeting him and Rafa Salama, commander of the Khan Younis branch of Al-Qassam Brigades, on July 13, 2024, in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis, located in southern Gaza.
