Houthis shoot down US MQ-9 drone
The Houthis announced on Monday that their air defenses successfully shot down a US MQ-9 drone while it was conducting what they described as "hostile missions" over Saada Governorate.
This marks the eleventh MQ-9 drone the Houthis claim to have downed, aligning their efforts with the Palestinian cause and Lebanese resistance.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree also accused "Israel", with US support, of launching 17 airstrikes on civilian sites in Al-Hudaydah, including a port and power station.
The strikes, he said, resulted in five deaths and 57 injuries.
Saree vowed that these attacks would not deter the Yemeni people from their "religious and moral duty" toward Palestine and Lebanon, warning of an escalation in military operations against what he called "the criminal enemy."
The US military confirmed the loss of an MQ-9 drone but provided no further details.
