Man sets himself on fire outside "Israeli" consulate in Boston
A man, believed to be Matt Nelson, in Massachusets, Boston self-immolated in protest on Wednesday against what he perceives as US complicity in the ongoing Israeli Occupation genocide in Gaza.
In the video on YouTube, Nelson criticized the Biden administration for its support of “Israel”, which he alleges has enabled a brutal siege and widespread destruction in Gaza.
Nelson’s video outlined his objections to the US government’s financial and military support for “Israel”, which he claims is used to oppress and kill innocent Palestinians.
He called on the US to halt this support, push for an end to what he described as a genocide in Gaza, and support the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) efforts to indict “Israeli” officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Nelson lamented the disproportionate allocation of resources towards military endeavors over essential services such as education, homelessness assistance, and environmental protection.
He urged fellow activists and citizens who share his views to pressure American legislators to act in accordance with his demands, asserting that a democracy should reflect the will of its people rather than the interests of the wealthy.
Nelson concluded his video with a call to "take the power back" and "free Palestine," underscoring his commitment to the cause.
Nelson set himself on fire outside the "Israeli" consulate in Boston.
He was subsequently rushed to a hospital with severe burns, but there have been no updates on his current condition.
Nelson’s act is the third reported case of an American citizen self-immolating in protest of US support for “Israel” and the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian people.
