Hamas delegation to visit Cairo, will not join ceasefire talks

A senior official from the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) announced on Saturday that a delegation from the group will travel to Cairo.

The delegation, however, will not participate in the ongoing talks aimed at securing a ceasefire in Gaza, according to AFP.

The official stated that the Hamas delegation will meet with senior Egyptian intelligence officials to review developments in the current negotiations concerning a prisoner exchange and a ceasefire agreement for Gaza.

The visit, the official emphasized, does not imply participation in the negotiation round expected to take place on Sunday.
