Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are set to divorce after just two years of marriage.

Lopez filed for divorce on Tuesday in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, according to court documents obtained by the BBC.

The couple got married in July 2022. Their relationship first began while working together on the set of the 2003 film Gigli.

They had planned to marry that year but ended their relationship in early 2004. After nearly two decades, they rekindled their romance, leading to their second chance at marriage.

The divorce petition, which Lopez filed, does not detail any prenuptial agreement terms.

A court filing indicates that both Lopez and Affleck are required to disclose their financial information, including income, expenses, properties, and debts.

The court has mandated that they share any updates to their financial status until a final agreement is reached.

Lopez has been given 60 days to file her financial disclosure, with Affleck required to do the same within 60 days of her submission. Failure to comply with these requirements could result in court sanctions.

Recent months have seen speculation about the couple’s relationship, with reports suggesting they have listed their Beverly Hills mansion for sale at USD 65 million and have been seen separately without their wedding rings.
