Warnings of high temperatures issued as new school year begins
The Jordan Meteorological Department has revealed the weather forecast in Jordan as students return to public schools for the 2024-2025 academic year.
On Sunday, the weather will be relatively hot in most areas of Jordan, with particularly high temperatures in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, according to the department's statement.
Some low-altitude clouds are expected to appear in northern Jordan, and moderate northwesterly winds will prevail.
For Sunday night, the weather is expected to be mild in most areas but relatively hot in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with light northwesterly winds.
On Monday, there will be a slight increase in temperatures, making the weather hot in most areas and very hot in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with moderate northwesterly winds.
Monday night is expected to bring mild weather across most regions, with relatively hot conditions continuing in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba, and light northwesterly winds.
The department has issued warnings about high temperatures, particularly during peak hours in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. It also cautioned against prolonged direct exposure to sunlight during peak hours.
