Hezbollah confirms death of senior commander in Beirut strike
Lebanese group Hezbollah confirmed today the death of senior commander Fuad Shukr (Sayyed Mohsen) with no mention of the details of how it took place.
“[Fuad Shukr] has fallen as a great martyr on the path to Jerusalem,” Hezbollah said in a statement, which uses the term “on the path to Jerusalem” to any personnel killed in battles with the Israeli Occupation.
“His sacrifice stands as a testament to our resistance's firm commitment and steadfast resolve to continue the struggle until the liberation of the land, holy sites, and humanity from the tyranny and brutality of this usurping, criminal, and murderous entity,” it added.
Earlier, security sources in Lebanon said that Fuad Shukr's body had been discovered amid the rubble, as reported by Roya's correspondent in Lebanon.
Hezbollah announced earlier Wednesday that the attack targeted a residential building in one of its neighborhoods, resulting in several fatalities and injuries, along with significant damage to the building’s floors.
The statement indicated that Fuad Shukr, also known as Haj Mohsen, was present in the building during the attack.
