“Israeli” aggression continues for 290th day
“Israeli” forces continue their assault on the Gaza Strip for the 290th consecutive day, with the death toll rising to 38,983, with 89,727 injured since October 7 – according to the latest numbers from the Ministry of Health.
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) shelled the northern areas of Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, along with heavy bombardment on the eastern neighborhoods of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
The IOF reported that eight of its soldiers were injured in the past 24 hours, with six wounded in clashes within the strip.
Regarding the prisoner exchange deal, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to send a delegation to Doha for negotiations next Thursday, according to Hebrew media reports.
Netanyahu's office stated that he had a deep discussion with the negotiation team and security officials about the prisoner exchange deal.
On Sunday, Netanyahu's office announced that he instructed the delegation to be sent next Thursday to follow up on the developments and attempt to reach solutions.
Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Washington is working with mediators to reach a new agreement for the exchange deal.
In a press statement, Blinken emphasized that their top priority is “securing the release of the hostages and achieving a ceasefire in Gaza.”
Blinken also pointed that progress is being made toward reaching an agreement and “a pathway towards a lasting peace.”
