Egypt condemns Mawasi bombing as unforgivable crimes

Egypt condemned the Israeli Occupation's attack on the Mawsawi area in Gaza on Saturday, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of dozens of Palestinians.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement denouncing the bombing of Mawsawi, west of Khan Younis, filled with displaced persons, resulting in numerous civilian casualties. Egypt called on Tel Aviv to stop disregarding civilian lives and adhere to humanitarian standards as per international law.

The statement emphasized that these crimes are unforgivable and cannot be justified under any circumstances. Egypt stressed that continuous violations against Palestinians complicate current efforts to achieve a ceasefire and exacerbate the humanitarian crisis amid international silence and inaction.

The attack killed 70 Palestinians and injured around 250. The Israeli Occupation military claimed to target Hamas military leader Mohammed Deif in the airstrike on Mawsawi. "Israeli" media reported that Rafah Salama, commander of Hamas's Khan Younis Brigade, was also targeted.

Hamas denied these claims, labeling them as false attempts to mask the scale of the massacre. The group noted that this is not the first time the Israeli Occupation has falsely claimed to target Palestinian leaders.
