Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) carried out a brutal massacre in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis, targeting tents housing displaced Palestinians, resulting in the deaths and injuries of over a hundred people.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli Occupation warplanes conducted intense airstrikes using bombs weighing over half a ton, targeting a displaced camp west of Khan Yunis. Witnesses confirmed that more than nine successive missiles struck the tents of the displaced.

Following the airstrikes, drones and ground forces reportedly fired on ambulances and civil defense teams as they arrived at the scene.

The entire area, housing over 80,000 displaced individuals, was heavily targeted, resulting in a devastating toll. Witnesses stated that the number of martyrs has exceeded 300, with many still buried under rubble and debris.

-  Preliminary toll -

Gaza Civil Defense reported that numerous bodies of martyrs were found scattered in the streets and under the rubble of the Al-Mawasi camp.

A Roya correspondent confirmed that more than 100 people, including civil defense personnel, were killed or injured in the occupation's assault on Khan Yunis.

The Government Information Office in Gaza stated that relief teams continue to recover bodies and assist the wounded amid the ongoing crisis. They highlighted the severe strain on local hospitals, unable to cope with the scale of casualties.

- Alleged primary targets -

Hebrew media later revealed that the primary targets of the Israeli Occupation attack were Muhammad Al-Deif, commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades, and Rafi Salama, another senior commander in Khan Yunis.

Israeli Occupation security sources claimed uncertainty about Al-Deif's fate but confirmed Salama's assassination in the assault.

Preliminary reports from Gaza's Ministry of Health documented 71 deaths and 289 injuries from the Mawasi Khan Yunis massacre, emphasizing the catastrophic impact on displaced communities.

The situation remains dire in Mawasi Khan Yunis, with civil defense teams facing immense challenges in recovering bodies and assisting the injured amid overwhelming destruction.
