“Israeli” officials were satisfied with the latest rounds of Gaza ceasefire talks held in Cairo, Egypt today – one US official told Axios.

The official said that progress was made during the talks, after which the CIA Director William Burns left for Doha, Qatar, and US President Biden’s advisor Brett McGurk went to “Israel” to continue the talks.

The “Israeli” officials were “careful not to raise expectations too much regarding the progress of the negotiations on the hostage deal and the ability to reach an agreement in the coming days” – Axios added.

One area which saw relative noticeable progress was the negotiations on the prisoner exchange deal. However, the parties did not reach a definitive agreement.

"We are facing difficult and complex negotiations that will take several weeks", one “Israeli” official said, in response to reports of optimism in recent hours out of Egypt.
