The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission announced the blocking of all messaging apps that could impact the integrity of the Tawjihi (General Secondary Education Certificate) exams.

The block will be in effect from Tuesday until July 15 in schools where exams are being held and only during the exam periods.

The commission confirmed on Tuesday that "the decision was made in cooperation with the Ministry of Education to preserve the integrity of the Tawjihi exams.

This precautionary step aims to prevent cheating and question leaks, ensuring fairness and credibility in the exam results."

The blocking will start a few minutes before the exams begin and will end shortly after they finish.

Due to the nature of telecommunications network coverage, some areas outside the schools may also be affected temporarily until the goal is achieved, according to the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission.

A total of 146,133 students will sit for their Tawjihi exams this year, starting with the Islamic Education exam.

Guidelines

The Ministry of Education issued several guidelines for the 2024 Tawjihi exams to ensure a smooth process. They confirmed the addition of 10 minutes to each exam paper to compensate for time lost during distribution.

The guidelines urge students to arrive at the exam hall an hour before the session starts. School doors will close at 10 AM for the first session and 1 PM for the second session, with no late entries allowed.

Students are required to bring their civil ID or passport (for Jordanians), passport (for non-Jordanians), or security card (for Syrian students without a passport) daily.
