No impact on aid supplies from “Israeli” military pause, says WHO

The World Health Organization (WHO) said Friday that the “tactical military pause” enacted by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) had no impact on aid deliveries in the besieged Gaza Strip.

"So overall, we the UN can say that we did not see an impact on the humanitarian supplies coming in since that, I will say, unilateral announcement of this technical pause", said Richard Peeperkorn, the WHO representative in the Palestinian territories.

"That is the overall assessment,” he added.

Last Sunday, The IOF said that a daily “tactical pause of military activity” will take place in areas in south Gaza to enable humanitarian aid to be delivered to Palestinians – according to a statement.

The pause would take place between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM every day on a road from Kerem Shalom Border Crossing to Salad ad-Din road, and then north towards Khan Younis.

“This is an additional step in the humanitarian aid efforts that have been conducted by the IDF and COGAT since the beginning of the war,” the IOF said in the statement earlier.

“The IDF will continue to support humanitarian efforts on the ground,” it further claimed.
