Gaza hostage recounts torture, limb amputation without anesthesia

The Palestinian Mohammed Saber Arab, detained by the Israeli Occupation from Gaza at the Sde Teiman camp, shared his testimony about the conditions of detention. He described "torture, abuse, humiliation, and rape," as documented by the Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners Club.

According to Arab's testimony, "the Israeli Occupation keeps the hostages shackled 24 hours a day, with their eyes blindfolded. Mohammed hadn't changed his clothes for fifty days, only being allowed to change his pants before the visit while keeping the same jacket for fifty days," according to a statement from the two organizations received by Roya.

Lawyer Khaled Mahajna told Roya that during his 45-minute visit to the detainee Mohammed Arab, he observed that Arab had lost 40 kilograms and could not move or stand normally.

Mahajna added that during his visit, the Israeli Occupation did not allow him to enter the camp with his private car but with a military vehicle accompanied by heavy Israeli Occupation forces. After a thorough inspection, Mahajna was prohibited from bringing any belongings with him.

Arab described the conditions of their detention, stating that "they are surrounded by police dogs all the time, and four hostage are allowed to use the toilet for one minute. Anyone exceeding the time limit is punished," according to the statement.

The statement also mentioned that "the food consists of small portions of labneh and a piece of cucumber or tomato, which is the meal provided to them all the time."
