Hamas reacts to UN investigation chair's statements
The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) commented on the statements made by Navi Pillay, Chair of the UN Investigation Committee on the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
Hamas stated on Wednesday that Pillay's remarks reaffirmed the crimes committed by the Israeli Occupation forces in Gaza and other occupied territories.
Hamas called on the international community, the United Nations, and all human rights organizations to act to stop the crimes against the Palestinian people.
Hamas also urged support for the efforts of the International Court of Justice to hold the rogue Zionist entity and its war criminal leaders accountable.
Pillay had stated on Wednesday that the Israeli Occupation is to blame for all that is happening in the Palestinian territories. She added that Tel Aviv obstructed the investigation and prevented access to Gaza and the West Bank, noting that the International Criminal Court would rely on the committee's report.
Pillay emphasized that Palestinians have suffered for decades under occupation, and the committee's investigation was incomplete due to restricted access to Gaza, the West Bank, and the occupied interior.
She requested an expansion of her mandate, confirming that the United Nations fully cooperated with her and that she had a memorandum of understanding with the ICC prosecutor. She also mentioned that the events of October 7 and their aftermath had put pressure on UN workers.
