King meets Blinken, stresses need to halt Gaza’s humanitarian crisis

His Majesty King Abdullah II, in a meeting with the United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday, emphasized the urgent need to intensify efforts to halt the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

In the presence of Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, His Majesty highlighted the crucial role of the United States in supporting humanitarian aid in Gaza, which is facing severe conditions that require serious and effective action to prevent further deterioration.

King Abdullah stressed the importance of building on the outcomes of the conference, noting the additional support announced by the United States for Gaza and the West Bank.

During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the International Conference for Emergency Humanitarian Response in Gaza, King Abdullah underscored the necessity of achieving an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza and protecting innocent civilians.

He warned of the dangers of obstructing the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Gaza, describing it as a lifeline for nearly 2 million Palestinians in the region.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi and the Director of the King's Office, Dr. Jaafar Hassan.
