Almog Meir Jan, an “Israeli” captive recently released from Gaza by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) in an operation on Saturday, said that his captors –Hamas fighters– presented him with a cake on the occasion of his birthday.

Jan, who was released along with three others, shared testimonies of their period in captivity, saying that their captors “cared about their wellbeing” – according to reports published on Hebrew media.

One other captive, Shlomi Ziv, said that he had learned the Arabic language during his time in Gaza, and attributed it to the Al-Jazeera’s broadcasts he watched along with Hamas fighters – adding that they made them read the Quran and pray every day.

Reports by Hebrew media claimed that the captives were found to be malnourished after their release, while also exhibiting signs of Stockholm Syndrome, despite speaking about positive experiences with Hamas members in their time in Gaza.
