Extremist “Israeli” National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, announced plans to storm the sacred Al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday during a provocative “Flag March” through Jerusalem.

The march coincides with 'Jerusalem Day,' a controversial celebration marking the anniversary of the Israeli Occupation’s capture of Palestinian East Jerusalem during the 1967 Six-Day War. This day is often marked by extremist “Israeli” settlers marching through Palestinian areas of the city while waving the occupation’s flags, a move seen as a deliberate provocation.

The event has historically been accompanied by assaults on Palestinian people and properties.

Ben-Gvir confirmed to the “Israeli” Army Radio that the march would pass through the Muslim Quarter and Damascus Gate in the Old City of East Jerusalem.

"We need to hit them in the most important place for them," Ben-Gvir told the radio station. "Every year, they said that it was not appropriate and it was not the time. But the opposite is true. If we give ground to them we get an October 7." He added, "We will march through the Damascus Gate and rise to the [Al-Aqsa Mosque], no matter what they think and despite their anger."

Around 3,000 Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) police officers are expected to provide security for the march, according to the “Israeli” news website YNet.
