Far-right parties in “Israel” threaten Netanyahu

The “Israeli” Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir, who are the heads of the government’s two ultranationalist parties, have threatened to break up “Israeli” government if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accepts the ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal announced by Joe Biden Friday.

The two leaders back the indefinite continuation of the war on Gaza, with the main goal being the complete destruction of Hamas.

They threatened Netanyahu to pull out of the coalition if he supports the latest ceasefire proposal.

Their two parties won 14 seats in the 2022 elections, which made Netanyahu’s coalition enjoy a 64-seat coalition out of 120 overall.

War cabinet minister and former Chief of General Staff of the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) called for the war cabinet to convene immediately to discuss the latest proposal and to “formulate the next steps forward”.
