“Israeli” aggression enters 240th day

The “Israeli” aggression on Gaza has entered its 240th day, with the death toll rising to 36,379 and 82,407 injured – according to the latest numbers released Saturday by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

The United States, Qatar, and Egypt have urged the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and “Israel” to accept the ceasefire proposal announced by US President Joe Biden on Friday.

The Mediators emphasized that the proposal serves everyone's interests for a permanent ceasefire and the release of prisoners.

Osama Hamdan, a senior official in Hamas, stated that President Joe Biden's proposal for a ceasefire is “positive”, confirming that the movement is studying it to submit its response.

He noted that the movement has not yet received a written proposal regarding Biden's plan.

Hamdan emphasized that the overall framework outlined in the Qatari-Egyptian-American statement is “generally good”, but the movement needs to know the details of the plan – according to his statements.

Yesterday, “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Saturday he was "thrilled" to have been invited to address the US Congress.

"I am thrilled by the privilege to represent Israel before both houses of Congress and to present the truth about our just war against those who are looking to take our lives," Netanyahu said in a statement issued by his office.

Democratic and Republican leaders of the US Senate and House of Representatives invited Netanyahu at an earlier time to address a joint meeting of Congress.

Despite the occupation’s aggression against Gaza, the bipartisan invitation, signed by Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson, Democratic Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, aims “to build on [their] enduring relationship and to highlight America's solidarity with Israel” as per the letter.
