King bestows medals on national institutions, figures on 78th Independence Day

His Majesty King Abdullah II awarded royal medals to various national institutions and individuals in recognition of their significant contributions to the nation across different sectors.

During a ceremony at Al-Husseiniya Palace, celebrating Jordan’s 78th Independence Day, the awards were presented in the presence of Queen Rania Al Abdullah, Crown Prince Hussein, and other royal family members, along with senior civilian and military officials.

Order of Independence, First Class:

  • The Jordanian Olympic Committee: Recognized for its role in advancing the sports sector and training athletes for local, regional, and international competitions.

  • Al-Hussein Technical University: Honored for enhancing university education by combining theoretical knowledge with practical, project-based learning in STEM fields.

  • The University of Jordan: Acknowledged for its efforts to improve educational quality and outcomes.

  • Issa Nassif Odeh: Commended for his charity work in Jordan and Palestine, including contributions to church construction and restoration.

Order of the Star of Jordan, First Class:

  • Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Al-Safadi: Awarded for his distinguished political and diplomatic contributions, especially regarding the Palestinian issue and the conflict in Gaza.

King Abdullah II Award for Excellence:

  • First class: Given to the Jordanian Strategy Forum, Zaha Cultural Center, Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, Dr. Sari Nasser, Al-Haq Agricultural Foundation, and the late Ali Nayfeh for their respective contributions in various fields including education, culture, and engineering.

  • Second Class: Awarded to Dr. Sanaa Al-Sokhn for cancer treatment, the Association of Information and Communications Technology Companies “Intaj”, Dr. Ghassan Abu Sittah for his humanitarian medical efforts during the Gaza aggression, and Youssef Khader for his scientific research in epidemiology and biostatistics.

  • Third class: Director Darren Salam for her achievements in filmmaking, particularly for the internationally acclaimed film "Farha", the team for Jordan's first animated feature film “Saleem”, Rima Dhiab for her work in IT and AI, Ayman Al-Adarbeh for his contributions to sports arbitration and his recognition as the best taekwondo referee in the world in 2023.
