Jordan evacuates nine stranded healthcare workers out of Gaza
Jordan has evacuated nine Jordanian healthcare workers who were stranded in the Gaza Strip in Rafah following the “Israeli” army takeover of the Border Crossing – a statement by the Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs at the Foreign Ministry said today.
The nine doctors and nurses reached Jordan today, through joint efforts with the Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab army.
The ministry's official spokesperson, Ambassador Dr. Sufian Qudah, said that the healthcare workers were working at the European Hospital in Gaza as part of a medical campaign organized under the auspices of the Palestinian American Medical Association (PAMA) and the Jordanian American Physicians Association (JAPA).
Dr. Qudah also added that assistance was provided to evacuate two doctors holding Egyptian citizenship, one Omani doctor, one Sudanese doctor, two doctors holding American citizenship, and one Australian doctor.
Ambassador Qudah emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, in collaboration with the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army, continues the evacuation operations for Jordanian citizens residing and present in Gaza, providing all forms of assistance to ensure their safety and secure their return to the Kingdom as quickly as possible.
