US says it delivered 569 tons of aid to Gaza

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said today that today, over 569 tons of humanitarian aid has been delivered to the Gaza Strip from the recently built temporary pier.

The aid is sent from the pier to Gaza for further distribution by humanitarian partners; The United States; UAE; European Union; and many other countries took part in this assistance – according to CENTCOM’s statement.s

“The pier is a temporary solution to surge humanitarian assistance to Gaza to meet the urgent needs of the Palestinian people,” it added.

The United States finished installing the temporary pier on Thursday, which is set up on the Gaza coast.

The pier’s components were moved from the port of Ashdod to Gaza, and cost the US around USD 320 million – according to officials.
