ICC Member States regret Israeli Occupation's attempt to undermine court's independence

The Assembly of States Parties to the International Criminal Court has called for the preservation of the court's independence and impartiality.

This followed remarks by the chief lawyer representing the Israeli Occupation at the International Court of Justice, who characterized the aggression in Gaza as "tragic" rather than genocide.

The states parties expressed concern that the occupation's assertions regarding the aggression in Gaza could compromise the court's impartiality in investigating the situation in Palestine, viewing it as a veiled threat.

Lawyer Gilad Noam stated, "There is a tragic war going on, but there is no genocide."

The occupying entity's delegation to the International Court of Justice argued that Rafah serves as a significant stronghold for the Hamas movement and a hub for resistance.

They maintained that the incidents during the Gaza aggression do not amount to evidence of genocide.
