Hezbollah drone strikes “sensitive Israeli military site”
An explosive-laden drone launched by Lebanon’s Hezbollah managed to hit a “sensitive military facility” in the Golani Interchange in southern “Israel” on Wednesday evening – the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) said in a statement today.
The facility is identified as “Sky Dew” – a high altitude missile defense aerostat used by the IOF near the border with Lebanon since 2022.
The aerostat was hit by the Hezbollah drone 35 kilometers from the border with Lebanon. Two drones were launched to carry out the attack; with one being intercepted – said the IOF.
This is Hezbollah’s deepest strike in “Israeli” territory since the start of the skirmishes on Oct. 8, 2023 – the damage to the giant missile-detecting blimp is still being assessed by the IOF.
Sky Dew is used at high altitudes to detect long-range and cruise missiles in addition to drones. It is not completely operational and the project has seen significant setbacks in its deployment – according to Hebrew media.
