Israeli Occupation military, led by the 162nd Division, launched a surprise operation targeting alleged Hamas sites east of Rafah in southern Gaza.

Israeli Occupation army spokesperson Avichay Adraee said that the operation was based on intelligence from the General Security Service and Military Intelligence.

Adraee claimed that the 401st Brigade's forces took control of the Rafah crossing on the Gaza side, citing information that Hamas fighters were using it.

He said airstrikes by the Israeli Occupation air force and the 215th Brigade targeted Hamas locations, destroying buildings and infrastructure.

Adraee claimed 20 people were killed and three tunnels were found, with no Israeli Occupation casualties.

He said international organizations were coordinated with for civilian safety. The operation, according to Adraee, is ongoing to address Palestinian resistance.
