Hamas maintains ceasefire stance in negotiations

Hebrew-language Channel 12 reported on Friday that Hamas had not changed its position on wanting a ceasefire, despite the optimism of the mediators.

Additionally, Husam Badran, a member of Hamas' political bureau, emphasized that the Palestinian movement "insists on a final ceasefire in Gaza and a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces."

Badran stated, "Netanyahu has been an obstacle in previous rounds of dialogue, and it's clear he still is, showing no interest in reaching an agreement."

An Egyptian security source reported that CIA Director William Burns was in Cairo on Friday for discussions on the Gaza truce, according to Reuters.

Badran mentioned that Hamas is holding internal discussions before returning to negotiations in Cairo for a ceasefire.

Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas' Political Bureau, also confirmed on Thursday that a Hamas delegation will visit Egypt soon to continue discussions aiming to reach an agreement to stop the aggression.
