King departs for Italy, US amid efforts to halt Gaza aggression

King Abdullah II left Jordan on Wednesday, heading to Italy and the United States as part of Jordan's ongoing efforts to achieve an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza and address the humanitarian crisis there.

During his absence, Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II was sworn in as Regent, in the presence of the cabinet.
