Jordanian customs thwart smuggling of 73,500 Captagon pills

The media spokesperson for the Jordanian Customs Department disclosed that customs officials stationed at the Jaber border crossing, in collaboration with security forces and the Anti-Narcotics Department, successfully intercepted two separate smuggling attempts involving a total of 73,500 Captagon pills.

In a statement received by Roya, the spokesperson detailed that at the Jaber border crossing, officials thwarted an effort to smuggle 38,500 Captagon pills concealed with a passenger arriving from a neighboring country.

The individual was subjected to thorough scrutiny after arousing suspicion, leading to the discovery of the pills hidden for smuggling purposes.

Furthermore, in another instance, a quantity of 35,000 Captagon pills was seized from a passenger bus arriving from a neighboring country. Through meticulous inspection following suspicion, officials uncovered the pills concealed in a covert manner.

The Jordanian Customs Department emphasized its collaborative efforts with other security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department across all border customs centers to combat the infiltration of such illicit drugs, fulfilling its duty to safeguard both citizens and the economy.
