Jordan Air Defense affirms ability to defend Jordanian airspace against threats

Jordan's Air Defense has reaffirmed its capability to repel any attack that threatens Jordanian airspace.

In a recent statement, the air defense emphasized the readiness of Jordanian forces to counteract and deter potential threats to the Jordanian airspace.

This came after the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission announced that, in order to safeguard the safety and security of civil aviation in Jordanian airspace, and in light of the escalating risks in the region, and following a risk assessment conducted according to internationally recognized standards, it has decided to temporarily close Jordanian airspace as a precautionary measure to all incoming, outgoing, and transiting flights starting from 20:00 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), which is 11:00 PM local time, for several hours to come.

This decision will be continuously reviewed and updated according to developments - the statement added.
