Government explains reason behind no price ceilings for Ramadan 2024

Jordan's Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply stated that for this year's Ramadan, no price ceilings have been set, given the stability or decrease in prices compared to the years 2019-2023.

In a press release, the ministry emphasized its commitment to safeguarding consumers' interests and ensuring the accessibility of essential goods at reasonable prices.

It mentioned that price ceilings are only implemented when there's evidence of inflated prices due to excessive consumer demand.
