Safadi urges implementation of UN ceasefire resolution in Gaza for Ramadan

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Al-Safadi, emphasized the crucial importance of implementing Security Council Resolution No. 2728, which was unanimously passed on Monday, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan.

On Tuesday, Safadi engaged in discussions with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock regarding efforts to achieve a lasting ceasefire in Gaza and to establish more effective mechanisms for delivering adequate humanitarian assistance to all areas of the Gaza Strip.

During a telephone conversation with his German counterpart, Safadi underscored the urgency of halting the aggression and putting an end to the humanitarian crisis faced by over two million Palestinians in Gaza.

Germany pledged its support to UNRWA with a donation of 45 million euros on Monday.

- International Mobilization to Halt Gaza Aggression -

Furthermore, Safadi held a phone call with French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné as part of efforts to mobilize international support to halt the aggression and address the humanitarian crisis that has left over a million Gazans on the brink of famine.

Safadi emphasized the critical need to ensure the full delivery of aid into Gaza, emphasizing that opening all land crossings is indispensable for meeting the humanitarian needs of the Gaza Strip.

Both Safadi and Séjourné reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation in facilitating aid delivery to Gaza through airdrops and land crossings.
