Man arrested for threatening to stab mother in Zarqa

A woman, 67, sought police assistance after her son, who is in his thirties, threatened to stab her to death following a heated argument at their home in Rusaifa, Zarqa, as per a source familiar with the matter.

The Public Prosecutor in Rusaifa has ordered the detention of the man for one week pending further investigation, charging him with making threats with a weapon and causing property damage.

The details provided by the source to Roya said that the woman lodged a complaint against her son, alleging that he had threatened her life with a knife during a verbal altercation, mentioning in her statement to the prosecutor that her son has a history of drug abuse.

The source further explained that upon entering his mother's residence, the son intentionally vandalized household furniture, prompting the woman to seek refuge in a room and contact the authorities, who subsequently apprehended him.
