New Jersey man kills three members of his family

New Jersey authorities announced the arrest of a suspect believed to be responsible for two shooting incidents that resulted in the deaths of three family members in the northeastern United States.

Trenton Police spokesperson Lisette Rios stated that the suspect surrendered peacefully after carrying out the shootings.

The suspect, identified as Gordon, allegedly stole a car in Trenton and drove approximately 65 kilometers to Levittown, where he fatally shot two individuals, his stepmother and 13-year-old daughter. Afterward, he fled to a nearby neighborhood and shot the mother of his children, later assaulting her mother with a rifle.

Subsequently, the suspect crossed the state border into Trenton, New Jersey, where he barricaded himself in a three-story house. Police characterized him as "extremely dangerous."

Gun violence statistics reveal that around 49,000 individuals were killed by gunfire in the United States in 2021, with a similar number of casualties reported in 2020.
