Newborn baby girl strangled to death in Al-Rusaifa

Al-Rusaifa’s Public Prosecutor has begun investigating the death of a newborn baby girl who was found murdered by strangulation with a men's undershirt.

The baby’s body was thrown in the Al-Awjan Cemetery in Al-Ruseifa afterwards, according to a close source to the investigation.

The source told "Roya" that the newborn baby girl, of unknown parents, was less than 24 hours old to “the extent that the umbilical cord had not been cut properly."

The initial examination by the forensic doctor indicates signs of strangulation around the neck with a men's undershirt. Additionally, the baby was undressed and not buried, and visible to passersby - according to the laboratory forensic team.

The source added that a group of children were playing near the cemetery when they saw the baby's body, prompting them to inform their relatives who then notified the police.

The Prosecutor ordered the transfer of the body to the forensic department of Al-Prince Faisal Government Hospital for autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The source confirmed that a specialized team has begun investigating to identify the baby's mother and her accomplice in the crime.
