The Biden administration took a new stand against settlement expansion on Palestinian territories by imposing sanctions on two settlement areas in the occupied West Bank on Thursday.

The US Treasury Department targeted Moshes Farm and Zephys Farm, along with three settlers, citing their use as bases for attacks on Palestinians by Israeli Occupation settlers.

This move follows last month's sanctions on four settlers accused of involvement in settler violence, signaling growing US discontent with Israeli Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's policies.

The Biden administration reaffirmed that expanding settlements in the occupied West Bank violates international law, indicating a return to the previous American stance from which the Trump administration had deviated.
