Jordanian team unveils first Arab electric car

Amidst the global competition in the electric car industry, a Jordanian team emerged, managing to design and oversee the production of the first Arab electric car, which will be available in markets during the second half of the current year.

The electric car is considered the first Arab electric car designed and supervised by a Jordanian team affiliated with the Jordanian Scientific Community (JSC) as part of a joint project with the Sultanate of Oman and MIES Automotive Company.

Mohammad Mustafa, CEO of JSC, stated that the design of the electric car was carried out in the offices of JSC in Jordan, Oman, as well as in European countries and China.

Mustafa further explained to Roya that the vehicle parts were manufactured in a large number of countries around the world, while the final assembly took place in the Sultanate of Oman.

The JSC is a team composed of young Jordanians who have worked and are working with major global industrial companies. They aim to transfer global technology to Arab and Jordanian youth specifically and to put it on the map of global industrial countries.

- Jordanian factories poised to join automotive manufacturing industry - 

Abdul Salam Ghadieh, Business Development Manager at the JSC, stated that currently, the parts are not manufactured in Jordan. Instead, they are designed by Jordanians, overseeing their production. He affirmed that the near future will witness a considerable portion of the vehicle parts being manufactured within the Kingdom.

He indicated that in the upcoming period, a significant number of local factories in Jordan will be prepared to enter the automotive manufacturing sector. These factories will be equipped to join global supply chains in this field.

Regarding the expected selling price of the vehicle in the markets, the JSC informed Roya that the current approximate price is JD 25,000.

It is worth mentioning that the JSC and its engineering and managerial personnel possess international engineering expertise in design and simulation in automotive and industrial equipment manufacturing for over 15 years.
