Man caught smoking shisha while driving on Desert Highway

The Highway Patrols Department reported that its personnel apprehended a truck driver smoking shisha while driving on the Desert Highway.

Captain Sufian Al-Attoum added that the Department dealt with several incidents during the past 24 hours.

One of which was a truck carrying petroleum products overturning on the Desert Highway in Al-Humaymah heading towards Amman. The accident resulted in the driver sustaining moderate injuries and the cargo spilling onto the road.

Al-Attoum noted that the highway patrols removed the vehicle from the road, reopened traffic, and took necessary actions at the scene. The spilled cargo was covered with soil by the Public Works Department.

He confirmed that two vehicles were apprehended with unlicensed drivers, who were taken to security centers and dealt with according to the law, in addition to seizing two cargo trucks with manipulated registration numbers.
