Negotiations between Hamas and Tel Aviv in Cairo, aiming to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and negotiate a prisoner exchange deal, have reportedly broken down, according to Reuters.
A Hamas source stated, "Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not want an agreement, and the United States should pressure him."
Other sources confirmed that the meeting between the Hamas delegation and the head of Egyptian intelligence, as well as the discussions held in Cairo, "did not result in a breakthrough."
Following reports of the collapsed negotiations, an Israeli Occupation official denied to Channel 13 Hebrew that the ceasefire negotiations in Cairo had collapsed. "We are still waiting for Hamas' response to our demands," the channel quoted officials.
