Hamas announced Tuesday that Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Political Bureau, arrived in Cairo leading a delegation for talks with Egyptian officials concerning the situation in Gaza.

Haniyeh's visit to Egypt aims to discuss the political and field conditions amidst the ongoing Israeli Occupation aggression in Gaza, amidst international efforts and calls for an immediate ceasefire, according to a statement by Hamas. 

In recent days, Cairo has been the site of negotiations and discussions aimed at reaching a prisoner exchange deal.
