Football fan arrested for peacefully waving Palestinian flag in “Israel”
In a match that took place between Hapoel Umm al-Fahm and Maccabi Haifa last Tuesday in the “Israeli” Premier League, a spectator was arrested for waving the flag of Palestine in the stands.
The fan of Hapoel Umm al-Fahm waved the flag at the start of the game and was then arrested on Friday after a “strenuous investigation” by the Israeli Occupation police.
The arrest was made as it enraged the spectators and the guests in the stadium, although there was no violence or provocation by the fan, according to Yedioth Ahronoth.
Curiously, there is no law in the Israeli Occupation against flying the Palestinian flag. However, the police arrested the individual claiming that it “disturbs the peace”.
The “Israeli” National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said. “On my watch someone who stokes the flames and supports terrorism will be dealt with severely and with zero tolerance” - according to the “The Times of Israel”.
