The European Union's Foreign Affairs Chief, Josep Borrell, deemed the “Israeli” firing at civilians attempting to access food supplies in Gaza to be “unjustifiable.”

Borrell called for an impartial international investigation into the killing of over 100 Palestinian civilians who were lining up for the aid trucks in Beit Hanoun, south Gaza.

He emphasized that "Israel" bears the responsibility to adhere to international law principles and protect the distribution of aid to Gaza's residents.

He underscored the urgent need for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire leading to a permanent cessation of hostilities to deliver aid and protect civilians in Gaza.

Borrell urged the Security Council to call for an immediate cessation of fighting and to stress the necessity of allowing humanitarian aid access to Gaza.
